  • Responsibilities

    OVERALL PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

    This position supports day-to-day human resources activities in support of the Company’s grain & oilseed industrial assets and office locations across the U.S and Canada. Responsibilities include coordination of recruitment activities, maintenance of employee records, completing requests for employment verification, and timecard maintenance, among other administrative tasks.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Maintains & updates HR database for multiple locations which | | includes entering new hires, job changes, and terminations. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Collects & reviews new hire paperwork from various locations, Enters | | new hires into HRIS system (Workday) and creates personnel files, in | | accordance with established process. | | - Organizes and maintains the Human Resources filing system; ensures | | accuracy and completeness of personnel files, medical files, I-9s | | and other employee records. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Responds to requests for verification of employment and unemployment | | claims for multiple locations in a timely manner, acts as liaison | | with payroll department and industrial sites. | | | |   | | | | - Facilitates activities related to recruitment, including | | authorization, job posting, coordination of candidate interviews, | | background checks, drug screens and/or results, and preparing | | orientation materials | | | |   | | | | - Serves as a point of contact for general employee inquiries such as | | password re-sets, etc. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Reviews and reconciles expense reports submitted for travel or | | relocation reimbursement. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Serves as Timekeeper for the Kansas City office utilizing Kronos | | timekeeping software; serves as backup timekeeper and subject matter | | expert to multiple locations. | | | |   | | | | - Coordinates communication with candidates and schedules interviews. | | | |   | | | | - Maintains exit interview process. | | | |   | | | | - Assists with event coordination for HR led trainings and | | group meetings. | | | |   | | | |   | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+

    Preferred qualifications:

    • General knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ie. EEO, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, OSHA, wage & hour laws).
    • Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS (such as Workday)
    • Familiarity with Kronos timekeeping software

    EQUIPMENT USED

    • Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, fax machine.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

     

    • Typical office environment. Extensions of regular working hour are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies.
    • Looking at computer screens and typing on a keyboard for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting items up to 30 pounds are essential functions of this position.

     EMPLOYEE SUPERVISION

    • Does not directly supervise others.

     DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY

    • Handle and report issues or questions to Human Resources team. Prioritizes personal workload throughout the day to ensure meeting of deadlines.

    Required Experience

    Basic qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of administrative support experience within HR.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Previous experience supporting multiple locations.
    • Previous experience in industrial setting.

    EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    Basic qualifications:

    • Associate’s Degree in social science or business related field.

    Preferred qualification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
    • Member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
