  • Responsibilities

    Louis Dreyfus Company, a privately held firm involved primarily in the international trading and merchandising of agricultural commodities is looking for a Human Resources Generalist in the Wilton, CT Office. This position is responsible for performing recruiting and other related responsibilities as assigned for the Human Resources Department.

    Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

    • Accountable for all aspects of recruitment for assigned positions, which includes formalizing job descriptions, drafting job advertisements, screening candidates, checking references, maintaining applicant flow data and preparing offer letters for open positions in Wilton, CT and New York, NY
    • Manage applicant flow data, requesting corrections/clarifications and verifying year-end applicant data.
    • Administers company-wide college recruiting program for trader trainees (full-time and internship) and leads annual local college recruiting efforts: tracks deadlines, schedules and applicants; compiles promotional material; registers for on-campus recruiting activities; attends job fairs; coordinates additional interviews, job offers and relocation assistance; documents disposition of applicants.
    • Identifies recruitment-process improvement opportunities, communicates, and implements best practices with multiple HR teams across the region. Manages projects from start to finish that strengthen recruitment and staffing efforts.
    • Maintains reporting for all open positions across the region by utilizing Workday and working with HR Partners in the region.
    • Tracks analytics related to recruiting and training (i.e. days to fill, cost per hire, etc.)
    • Participates in creating and implementing training programs, maintain training records (e.g. trainee lists, schedules, attendance sheets) and book training rooms (intern and external) and ensure proper set up.
    • Manages specific training programs as assigned for the Wilton, CT and New York, NY offices as may be assigned (e.g Learning Lunches).
    • Enhances job satisfaction and team engagement by organizing and planning team building activities for the employees of the Wilton, CT and New York, NY office. This includes the annual team building event and charity events as needed.
    • Sources and assigns temporary employees to ensure coverage, maintains records, troubleshoots problems and pays invoices; assesses service provided by vendors and selects appropriate vendors and candidates; coordinates sourcing and placement of interns, determination of internship specifications and tracking of progress toward objectives

    • Solid understanding of recruitment tools and services, including those that are Web-based
    • Ability to screen job applicants and make effective assessments of suitability for positions Ability to develop strong, positive relationships with clients (candidates and hiring managers) Must be able to maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate diplomacy and tact in all situations
    • Ability to work independently to achieve goals and see projects through to completion
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
    • Excellent written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task, sometimes within strict deadlines
    • Ability to compile and analyze large volumes of data

    The following is the preferred qualification:

    • Knowledge of HRIS/payroll procedures (preferably Workday)

    Required Experience

    The following are the basic qualifications:

    • Three years of diversified experience in the administration of human resources functions with a focus on recruiting
    • Proven experience working with OpenHire or similar Applicant Tracking System, including the day-to-day tasks and as well as system oversight.

    The following are the preferred qualifications:

    • Advanced training or professional certification in Human Resources Management
    • Experience working for a federal contractor subject to affirmative action requirements
