Summary
The Specialist II, Hedge Funds and Liquid Alternative Investments leads the ongoing due diligence and assists the initial due diligence of liquid alternative investment products, which includes hedge funds, liquid alternative mutual funds, long-only limited partnerships, tax-deferral products, and other alternative investment products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Leads the ongoing due diligence of assigned products, including scheduling and leading quarterly review meetings with product management teams, reviewing product materials to develop follow-up questions and requests for information, and maintaining detailed notes and files.
• Assists with producing periodic internal research reports for assigned products using materials provided by product management teams, internal notes, industry research reports, and data from various third-party service providers.
• Assists with the initial due diligence of assigned products, including preparing investment committee memoranda, scheduling and participating in meetings with product management teams, reviewing product materials, and maintaining detailed notes and files.
• Maintains Stifel website pages for assigned products, including keeping offering materials and performance files up to date.
• Coordinates cross-departmentally within Stifel to develop and advance product initiatives.
Qualifications
• Expert knowledge of hedge fund investment concepts, strategies, and risks.
• Expert knowledge of private placement concepts and regulations.
• Intermediate knowledge of global financial markets and the global investment landscape.
• Ability to present in a professional context and to large audiences of financial professionals.
• Ability to cogently explain complex products and situations, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate independently with professional judgment and discretion.
• High attention to detail.
Education and Experience
• Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum Required: 3+ years' relevant work experience.
Licenses and Credentials
• Minimum Required: Series 7
Systems and Technology
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Familiarity with Morningstar Direct
• Familiarity with Bloomberg
Salary: $84,000 - $126,000 per year
Actual salaries may vary, and may be based on several factors, including but not limited to each candidate’s qualifications, skills, and overall competencies for the position.
