Full-time, Internship Description Transcend Insights is a population
health management technology company and wholly owned subsidiary of
Humana, with a vision of enabling health and wellness across patient
populations. The clinical informatics, data analytics Intern will work
on key aspects of the development cycle to help prototype, optimize, and
evaluate healthcare related data and models. This is a great opportunity
for a student who wants to gain hands-on experience applying
bio-statistical and predictive analytics for healthcare.
Responsibilities Key Duties and Responsibilities: * Leverages its
knowledge of data, statistics, modeling, optimization, and tools to
assist the team with the analysis, design, development, testing, and
documentation of predictive models, tools, and visualizations algorithms
- Applies disciplined clinical analytics and mathematical concepts to
predict behavior and optimize statistical models: after participating in
the model design, the intern will work with an experienced modeler in
the preparation of data, development of candidate models, evaluation and
selection of final models. * Understands and analyzes complex healthcare
data, completing written documentation and reports of results, helping
to develop health related insights for physicians and patients Desired
Experience and Qualifications: * Prefer candidates working towards
Masters degree or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a
related technical field. Consideration will be given to exceptional
Bachelor level candidates as well * Prior clinical data analytics and
statistical modeling experience is desirable * Data Exploration and
visualization using HTML/JavaScript * Strong interpersonal and
communication skills (both written and oral) * Work as part of a team
and collaborate with colleagues while maintaining highest levels of
respect and positive team spirit * Establish and maintain cooperative
working relationships with colleagues at all times * Preferred
Experience: * Working knowledge of Python, SkLearn, numPy, SQL and
JavaScript * Graph theory * Visualization libraries such as D3.js This
position is located in our San Diego office. The summer intern program
