Summer Intern – Global Multi-Asset Group (GMAG), Macro Team
The Global Multi-Asset Group (GMAG) is responsible for developing and managing Oppenheimer’s multi-asset and alternative portfolios. The team currently consists of about twenty investment professionals and manages approximately $12 billion in assets.
The macro team within GMAG, comprised of one portfolio manager and two research analysts, is seeking an intern who will focus on applied research in the field of global macro, financial markets and risk premia. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to GMAG’s global macro strategy, working on projects focused on quantitative analysis of global economic trends and their impact on multiple asset classes such as global equities, fixed income, credit, commodities, currencies, with a top down approach.
Responsibilities
Manage and process large amounts of economic data, streamlining data procedures with statistical/quantitative softwares.
Partner with other research analysts, developing proprietary economic and financial indicators to be integrated in the investment process.
Perform empirical research using economic and financial data: regression and statistical analysis, back-testing of actionable investment ideas.
Develop dashboards and other analytical tools to monitor global market trends and conditions.
Degree in Economics, Finance, or Quantitative Disciplines.
Excellent quantitative skills, with advanced knowledge of applied statistics.
Programming skills required, with a preference for Matlab, Excel/VBA, R softwares.
Very attentive to details, with strong ability to efficiently organize large amounts of data.
A strong passion and interest in financial markets and international macroeconomics.
