  • Responsibilities

    The Internal Audit Intern will perform operational, financial, and compliance audits of various internal departments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's governance, risk management process, system of internal control, and quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities in order to achieve the organization's stated goals and objectives.

    The Internal Audit Intern assists in drafting audit work programs and performs testing, document preparation and research and works under the close supervision of the Manager and/or Senior members of the department.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Learn various job functions within the Internal Audit Function and Financial Services industry.

    • Inspect records, documents, and systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted procedures.

    • Examine records and interviews Company personnel to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.

    • Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to Internal Audits and Intern Projects

    • Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competences.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

    • Demonstrated understanding of basic risk and internal control concepts.

    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

    • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.

    • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Pursuing a college degree with at least 1 year completed preferred

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
