    Citizens Bank is looking for highly motivated and talented individuals for the Internal Audit Rotational Program (“the Program”) starting in June 2018. The Internal Audit Rotational Program is a year-long program designed to accelerate the development of foundational audit skills through a combination of classes, self-study, on-the-job training and business line rotations. Through exposure to key Citizens Bank business divisions, you will graduate from this program with a strong understanding of audit principles and be well-positioned to have a successful career in the financial services industry.

    Program Outline:

    • The Program includes a combination of classes, self-study, on-the-job training, and line rotations over an 12-month period.
    • Training begins with classes concentrating in internal audit, bank operations, information technology, and regulatory risk management.
    • Participants are exposed to a range of consumer and commercial lending, risk management, and support areas, including finance/accounting, operations, and information technology, through focused training sessions with experts from the various departments.
    • Participants are exposed to senior executives from IA and other divisions and will be assigned a mentor in IA at the beginning of the program.
    • Project assignment example: Planning, fieldwork, wrap-up, and execution of all types of audit activities including audits, continuous monitoring of internal controls, and issue validation for IA-raised issues
    • Upon successful completion of the Program, graduates will be placed on a IA team as a Staff Auditor. A Staff Auditor is typically responsible for executing test work in business lines across Citizens Financial Group to validate the adequacy, effectiveness, and sustainability of internal controls.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    As an Internal Audit Associate, each individual will be enrolled in the full-time program and is responsible for successfully completing all aspect of the program including:

    • Attendance at all training classes and completion of related homework and other assignments as required
    • Demonstration of competence in materials presented and ability to execute routine audit test work

    • All majors considered. Coursework in Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Information Technology-related areas preferred
    • Self starter and self motivated
    • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Detail-oriented
    • Team player who can work closely with others to complete projects under pressure with limited time and resources
    • Internship or relevant work experience strongly preferred

    Education:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree
    • Expected graduation date of May 2018
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 required
