    Intern - Commodity Finance Analyst Location: Kansas City, MO Job Code: HCR#2059 Description Position Purpose: The intern will complete two rotations across different business lines to gauge their interest in the business, work ethic, and intellectual curiosity. Interns who perform well can receive an offer of full-time employment to join our FMS Analyst Program the following year. Upon joining the full-time analyst program, he or she will continue to rotate across different business lines learning nuances of energy, metals, and agricultural markets and how those commodities are traded, moved and financed. Interns and analysts are initially responsible for trade entry, risk reporting, and general trade assistance. Full-time hires will be challenged to advance quickly and join a business line as a revenue generator. To excel within the organization, employees will need to be highly analytical and apply quantitative reasoning to think about commodity valuation and risk management. Additionally, as a part of a new and growing business, employees will have to learn to communicate effectively within the organization and with customers. Responsibilities may vary widely depending on rotation and the candidates aptitude. Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities: Trade entry, reporting and monitoring Market analysis and business opportunity studies Sales and origination Deal modeling and structuring Infrastructure and software development Enterprise risk management Works proactively with other team members Maintains prompt and regular attendance This list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as needed. Job Requirements: Intellectual curiosity Proven analytical skills All applicant degrees will be considered but preference will be given for degrees in quantitative fields such as: Computer science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, etc Computer programming knowledge, statistical analysis experience, and MS Office skills are helpful Prefer candidates with a minimum of 2 years completion of college coursework Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer Physical requirements/Working conditions: Dynamic, time-sensitive environment Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials Climate controlled office environment We encourage applicants of all ages and experience, as we do not discriminate on the basis of the applicant's age.
