    Financial Crime Investigations (FCI) focuses on the specific financial crime threats the firm faces now and, in the future, while pioneering the techniques and technology that protect our business, our customers, and the many communities in which we operate from the harms associated with financial crime. FCI harnesses intelligence, analytics, technology, investigation, information sharing, and public-private partnership to achieve this end, always seeking the most effective and efficient means.

    The Investigator, Major Investigations is positioned in one of FCIs five global functions aimed is at mitigating the harms associated with financial crime.

    Here is what you can expect:

    • Operate within the firm’s Major Cases investigative programs across regions and countries related to fraud, anti-money laundering, countering the financing of terrorism, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption.
    • Undertake professional, timely, globally consistent investigations for Major (and Complex, where approved by the Regional Head of Major Cases) Cases.
    • Communicate regularly with the business to ensure that financial crime risk is mitigated as effectively as possible.
    • Identify and escalates the most significant and sensitive investigations to the Regional Head of Major Cases to ensure appropriate prioritization, resourcing, and investigative strategy.
    • Trigger customers into the Client Selection and Exit Management Process (CSEM) as soon as the financial crime risk materializes
    • Provide timely management information, demonstrating efficiency and qualitative metrics.
    • Refers investigative findings and recommendations to other parts of the firm for follow-on action to aid risk mitigation.
    • Write reports on investigations that clearly articulate the financial crime(s) and identifies possible root causes and, where necessary, recommending triggers into CSEM or makes other recommendations for action to assist the business to remediate the risk
    • Personally provide the subject matter expertise necessary to ensure investigative product is of the highest standard; ensuring that investigators are competent in all financial crime typologies.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $87,900 and $131,800.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
