ASSOCIATE/ VICE PRESIDENT, INVESTMENT & CORPORATE BANKING - RATINGS ADVISORY (NEW YORK, NY)
Mizuho’s Ratings Advisory team is part of the Financial Sponsors & Strategic Solutions Group, and provides world-class advice to Mizuho’s clients on rating agency matters. Ratings Advisory plays several key roles within the organization including providing assessments of anticipated ratings outcomes for transactions in which Mizuho proposes to serve as a lender or underwriter, advising clients on anticipated first-time ratings or ratings implications of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures or other strategic financing activities, and executing ratings mandates for clients going through the rating process at one or more of the agencies. Ratings Advisory’s clients span nearly all corporate sectors and also encompass a broad range of project and infrastructure finance transactions.
The team is seeking a talented and motivated Associate or Vice President with a diverse range of experiences that provide strong knowledge of credit fundamentals and rating agency methodologies across corporates as well as project/ infrastructure finance. Experience working at or closely with rating agencies is strongly preferred.
Role Summary:
Work alongside senior members of the Ratings Advisory team to analyze credit ratings implications of transactions and to develop presentation materials for internal and client discussions.
Work closely with internal partners including Banking Coverage, Investment Grade and Leveraged Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Financial Sponsors and Credit to provide expert perspective on rating agency matters.
Requirements:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, or other relevant work experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit, with a rating agency or similar area.
The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with rating agencies and relevant ratings methodologies, including fundamental methodologies, rating agency adjustments and notching analysis. Meaningful exposure to project and infrastructure transactions is preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
