Job Description

Invoca offers an unusually valuable engineering internship experience. You will be embedded with a team of Operations Engineers deploying code to our production SaaS platform and public cloud infrastructure multiple times per day. The team will provide you hands-on guidance and mentorship, ensuring that you learn modern methodologies of agile software development: scrum and DevOps, test-driven development, and cloud services.

The experience you gain will set you up for professional success. Almost 50% of our interns join Invoca full time after graduation. Of those that don’t join, the vast majority go on to work at other industry-leading companies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Receive mentorship and guidance from our authoritative team of engineers while working on solutions for challenging problems, including:
  • An extraordinary diligence to automate process
  • Highly available architecture
  • Large scale data warehouses
  • Highly scalable and reliable VoIP telephony
  • Sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
• Participate in peer code reviews, design reviews, standups, retrospectives, mentoring 1-on-1s, root cause analyses, company outings, and more.
• Focus on the whole production stack, making systems that a wide range of internal and external customers are using.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• A systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
• The ability to work as part of a team and receive constructive feedback.
• An understanding of Object-Oriented software development.
• Familiarity with Virtual Machines and SQL databases.
