    Systems Administrator

    Overview

    The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day to day operation of all servers to ensure the reliability and data integrity of each server with a goal of no unplanned down time. This includes ensuring that all systems are maintained at supported levels of operating systems, patches and code reviews.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the configuration, troubleshooting, and day to day operation of Microsoft Servers in a global environment.
    • Work with global teams in support of Office 365 tenant applications and authentication services.
    • Participate in the advancement of the Active Directory infrastructure including but not limited to Group Policy, Directory security, WSUS and DFS Technology implementation
    • Participate in the advancement of the VMware infrastructure including but not limited to vSphere, View and vRealize Automation Center Technologies.
    • Assist with Data Center and/or System Consolidation/Relocations, including Migration Planning/Design, Communication, Coordination and Execution.
    • Interacting with IT staff or vendors in performing testing, support and troubleshooting functions.
    • Performing software installations, maintenance and support of server environments. Scripting experience is a plus.
    • Ensure that all system administrative access is secure and protected by working with the Security Administrator to ensure that proper security precautions are taken on all servers and networks.
    • Provide second level support to the Help Desk; assist other support representatives when required.
    • Documenting standards and operating procedures for all production Microsoft systems and acting as technical resource to the IT staff and systems users.
    • Participate in the disaster recovery efforts to protect the data assets of the corporation.
    • Work with the Help Desk coordinator to ensure all Versa tickets are updated and/or closed in their prescribed time frames.


    Required Skills

     

    • Must have working knowledge of the following area: Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft ADFS/SAML authentication, VMware Technologies, TCP/IP, Business Awareness, DFS/DFS-Replication, DHCP, DNS network connectivity troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience with public cloud vendors such as Azure, AWS, Google is a plus.
    • Experience in the following hardware/software is preferred: DELL/ HP/ IBM servers and peripherals.
    • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide variety of internal and external personnel with emphasis on follow-through and reporting.
    • Must have excellent organization and technical documentation skills.
    • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Must be self-motivated and enjoy a sense of pride in their accomplishments.
    • Ability to travel occasionally internationally and incur travel expenses until reimbursed by the company.
    • Able to work extended periods of time at a terminal or PC using a keyboard and mouse.
    • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, as project and system availability requirements demand. Able to be on-call and carry a pager.
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
