    Job Description

    Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy (DoP), the Development Manager provides critical support to the Development Department’s organizational fundraising efforts by assisting with event coordination, donor relations, and overall administrative support.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Works closely with the DoP to coordinate and facilitate implementation of an annual fundraising plan to engage and solicit donors and prospects, both individual and corporate
    • Provides operational and administrative support to the DoP, especially for development events, meetings, and other projects related to the engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of current and prospective donors
    • Coordinates logistics and execution of all Shelter organized events, to include, Kickball for Kids, Kentucky Derby, Hope Society, and Vintner Dinner
    • Coordinates the development and execution of the direct mail program for both acquisitions, renewals, and reactivations; coordinates ongoing appeals and reminders, related collateral, and related member communications and stewardship
    • Assists the DoP and Executive Director with other donor engagement and solicitation efforts as requested (proposals, development events, sponsor management, briefings for donor/funder meetings, etc.)
    • Routinely utilizes CRM database for prospect vetting, and helps to maintain timely entry of contact reports, tracking of solicitations, proposals, and reports and timely updates to biographical/contact information, processing and proper recording of gifts and pledges and pledge fulfillment
    • Drafts gift, pledge, sponsorship, and/or grant agreements, invoicing, and tracking
    • Serves as back-up for gift processing, to include preparation of gift receipt letters and appropriate acknowledgement letters according to established procedure
    • Coordinates with the Community Engagement team in the creation of collateral materials in support of donor stewardship

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2-3 Years of experience in non-profit development/fundraising
    • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to multiple demands concurrently with excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
    • Strong CRM database skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and solid project management skills
    • Able to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
    • Proficiency with WealthEngine a plus
    • Team player, self-starter, interested in personal and professional growth
    • Able to work occasional weeknight evenings and weekends

    The demands described are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

    • Tasks may involve walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting for long periods of time.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must pass all criminal history and child maltreatment background checks.
    • Must submit to pre-employment a drug screen as well as random drug screens when directed.
    • Valid driver's license, proof of personal automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record required to drive shelter vehicles for shelter business.
    • Must maintain confidentiality and privacy regarding all Children’s Shelter residents' information in accordance with NWACS policy and all applicable Federal and state laws/regulations.
    • Attend and participate in mandatory training, staff meetings, and all other events, as required.
    • Set, maintain and communicate appropriate personal and professional boundaries.
    • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner per NWACS procedures.

    ** Position Pay and Benefits**

    • $40,000-$50,000 depending on qualifications and experience
    • Health Insurance, Dental and Vision, Supplemental Insurance Plans
    • 403(b) with up to 3% discretionary match after one year of employment
    • Paid holidays and sick time
