Responsibilities General purpose of the position: The Design Apprentice, CAD is responsible for assisting the CAD team in all aspects of the design process and provide support as needed. He or she will be exposed to the design and art direction of prints, graphics and illustrations for all categories. T he ideal candidate is a technically savvy and highly creative individual who welcomes the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative team environment, and embrace change as the brand grows and develops. Essential duties and responsibilities to include: Work in partnership with the Cad and Color team Assists with print design into approved seasonal concepts Create technical packages of artwork to send to factories Assist with palette fabrication and creating digital palettes Help maintain print library Understand the brand and how to translate that into print and color Be able to visualize and see how a print or artwork becomes translated into a product Ensure assigned CAD work is presentable for key meetings and mill-ready for submission by calendar targets Support team members where needed and requested Qualifications Skills and abilities required : Bachelors Degree in Fine Art, Textiles, Graphic design Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator Past experience working with fabrics and prints, and setting up artwork to be factory ready (must be proficient in putting artwork into repeat and re-touching artwork) Organized and detailed oriented, ability to multi-task Kate Spade & Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer: Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran #LI-KU
