Job Description
This Senior Analyst position will support data management activities on a federal client financial systems modernization project. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze and validate data elements and values for federal finance, procurement and travel and asset management systems. Analyze, identify, and document data inconsistencies and anomalies, including comparing and reconciling data between multiple systems.
- Coordinate with data owners to validate cleansed data, e.g., reconciling transaction details to summary records
- Assist with verifying and validating cleansed data
- Identify potential problems and solutions through analysis and recommend solutions
- Support definition of government financial business practices and incorporate processes into an automated solution
- Assist in applying sound accounting, financial management, and data processing principles
- Work with functional specialists, other vendors, and the client to effectively cleanse, convert/transform, and migrate financial, procurement and asset data to a new financial solution.
- Assist with mapping data in a prescribed format and conversion templates, including mapping current account codes to the future account code structure
- Assist with reconciling any data during the conversion effort and verifying and validating data transformation, including data testing when it's loaded into the new solution's test environment
- Assist with validating data during multiple mock conversions and the full/final migration
- Participate in cross-component data management integrated project team meetings and respond to action items
- Participate in weekly/monthly team status meetings and provide written status reports.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree from an accredited college/university and at least 4 years of financial reconciliation, reporting, and/or data management experience.
- In lieu of degree, 15 years of financial reconciliation, reporting, and/or data management experience acceptable
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (U.S. citizenship required)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA or CGFM
- Proficiency in the following federal government systems and data: Federal Financial Management System (FFMS), Sunflower Asset Management System (SAMS), Concur eTravel, and Unisom PRISM
- Prior experience with data analysis, reconciliations, cleansing, crosswalk/mapping, conversion/transformation, and migration from a legacy system to a new financial integrated solution.
