  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial and industrial loans and small business loans, working closely with Commercial Loan Administrators to ensure timely and quality credit administration and risk management. Responsible for completing day to day activities including: meeting assigned new business goals, follow-up with clients, structuring credit terms, drafting loan proposals and commitments, supporting the Credit department with underwriting and loan approval, working with attorneys on loan documentation and closings, supporting the Credit department on renewals or modifications and annual reviews, and tracking all covenants and financial requirements set within the loan documents. Work closely with and mentor Portfolio Manager, if applicable.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Meet new business goals assigned by the Group Head, including loan and deposit growth, while maintaining strong credit quality. Develop and cultivate referral network through centers of influence and industry contacts. Attend networking events and customer meetings.
    • Meet with customers, draft customer correspondence including proposal/commitment letters, requests for information, covenant waivers, renewal/extension notifications, etc.
    • Assist Commercial Loan Administrators as needed: Provide support for booking loans after closing, assist with customer service issues and overdraft decisions.
    • Ensure that received financials are sent to credit files in a timely manner. Request tardy financial information when necessary. Initiate waiving of covenant violations with Portfolio Manager. Draft commentary on any change in performance or event needing further explanation, and during periodic financial and covenant review.
    • Ensure all required information is on hand for proper underwriting. Review loan documentation to ensure consistency. Ensure renewals are approved and booked or extended prior to expiration.
    • Monitor borrowings versus availability per formula, to ensure positive collateral position.
    • Assist in facilitating Credit Risk Review, Portfolio Review, and external examinations.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
    • 5+ years Commercial Lending and/or Commercial Credit experience

     

    SKILLS

     

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Knowledge of various commercial loan products (C&I, CRE)
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Basic knowledge of SBA lending

     

     

    PREFERENCES

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Finance/Accounting or equivalent in professional experience
    • Knowledge of FIS and Fiserv iDM Commercial
    • Multilingual capabilities and/or multicultural perspective
