    User Experience Research Intern - (Jan 2019 Seattle, WA) **User Experience Researcher ****(Paid Internship for Graduate Students Enrolled in a Human-Computer Interaction or Related Graduate Program) Seattle, WA** The Liberty Mutual User Experience Team has an outstanding opportunity for a User Experience Research Intern. The User Experience Research Intern improves the usability of public-facing websites and mobile apps to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction of the online experience for our customers. The User Experience Research Intern works closely with project teams to understand users intentions and to test functional designs and prototypes in keeping with users goals and the companys business objectives. The company is looking for a User Experience Researcher who is comfortable working in a corporate environment. This is a 18.75-22.5-hour (2.5-3 day) per week paid internship available to graduate students enrolled in a Human- Computer Interaction or related graduate program. The position is based in our Safeco office in Seattle, WA. Responsibilities * Design and lead usability studies and usability testing * Conduct usability testing on mobile phones, tablets, and laptops, both remote and in person * Write heuristic evaluations and expert reviews * Advocate for users while understanding the business goals of the stakeholders and management * Interact with a wide variety of stakeholders business sponsors, product managers, business analysts, technical leads, and developers * Participate actively in usability testing, including note-taking and moderating, to understand user behaviors and preferences * Analyze the results from usability tests, and write up findings and recommendations in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Requirements * Studying for a Master of Science graduate degree in Human Factors, HCI, Information Design, or similar field * Experience running usability tests and writing expert (heuristic) reviews * Understanding of and experience in design thinking * Demonstrated interest in user-centered design and cognitive psychology * Experience leading usability projects * Experience using quantitative usability tools (such as Validately and UserZoom) * Experience working on Agile teams * Experience in social media and mobile related technologies * Meticulous attention to detail * Experience using Morae or Camtasia or GoToMeeting * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Proficient in Microsoft Windows * Experience juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment * Ability to think creatively to come up with solutions * Excellent presentation and communication skills * Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with both external and internal clients * Graphic/visual design skills * Understanding of information architecture Familiar with the tools of graphic design, screen layout, and visual design **Primary Location: **US-WA-Seattle **Work Locations: ** **Job: **Strategy %26 Planning **Organization: **Liberty Mutual Insurance **Schedule: **Part-time **Shift: **Day Job **Travel: **No
