POSITION INFORMATION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Liquidity Solutions team offers a variety of products to commercial banking clients. This role is designed to give early career professionals, and career switchers exposure to the strategy behind and the delivery execution of those products. You will build a solid breadth of knowledge rotating through several groups within Liquidity organization that will set you up for future career success as a financial services, liquidity or product management professional.
This competitive program is designed to invest in you for the first 24 months of through a series of rotations. Alongside these rotations you will work with the Liquidity Solutions Chief of Staff in managing special one-off projects. At the end of the 24 months, and after you have gained the needed experience, you will be matched with a permeant role that best fits your passions and satisfies our business need.
One of your rotations may be a deep dive into MO (Middle Office). The MO team supports the systems, functions processes and procedures for Liquidity Management Cash Sweep, Repo and SAM solutions. Some examples of work completed during this rotation may be:
Trading & trade settlements: execution and resolution of complex securities transactions
Reconciliation: analyze records and transactions for discrepancies
Account maintenance: implement account changes
Revenue recognition: Calculate revenue estimates and process and review management fees
Another rotation may be a deep dive into our SAM (Silicon Valley Bank Asset Management) team. This team helps clients preserve capital for future use through curated investments tailored to specific client needs. Some examples of work completed during this rotation may be:
Portfolio compliance monitoring: comparing market variations to client investment policies
Investment policy programming: translate what clients want into systems to flag anomalies
Request for proposal assembly: help target marketing to a specific client to win business
Placement research: assist research investments to place client assets
Another potential rotation could be working directly with the Chief of Staff, helping to optimize how the Liquidity Solutions group operates, via special projects. Projects could focus on change management, communications, human resources and business strategy. Some examples of work completed during this rotation may be:
Creating and modifying senior level presentations and executive communications.
Managing email "air traffic control" and the pacing of group wide distributions.
Facilitating workshops and team meeting management, as well as maintaining a master meeting calendar
Compiling and analyzing information for an assigned project or area and making recommendations based on findings
Communications development, such as articles, blogs, e-briefs
Organizing and maintaining our group SharePoint site
The rotations are designed to take anywhere from a few hours a day to nearly full focus for 12 months.
In addition to the rotations, the program includes information sessions on various areas of Liquidity and one-on-one sessions on how the bank creates values for clients and internal stakeholders. The goal is to give you a holistic picture of our Liquidity Solutions organization and SVB to help you make the best decision for your career post the program.
THE BEST CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THESE KEY COMPETENCIES:
Strategic thinking - ability to connect business strategy with expected outcomes
Communication skills - strong communicator (verbally and written) able to articulate complex ideas in a simple way, while also gaining buy-in from key stakeholders and group leaders
Data driven decision making - ability to manage and utilize data analytics to drive decision making or provide a recommendation
Business Acumen - a general understanding of how an organization works, and how various business functions fit together to achieve a goal
BASE PAY:
$70,056.00 - $131,356.00
Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
