    Loan Officer Assistant / Loan Partner – Join a Fast-Moving, Growth-Driven Mortgage Team Position Overview: We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Loan Partner 2 (LP2) to help us deliver five-star mortgage experiences and keep our pipeline running smoothly from start to finish. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing and prequalifying loan applications, issuing clean and accurate pre-approvals, and ensuring every active loan in our pipeline is moving forward and closing on time. You’ll work closely with our Loan Officers, borrowers, agents, and processors to support our mission of closing 95%+ of loans on time, while delivering a high-touch, client-focused experience. This is a role for someone with strong knowledge of cash, credit, capacity (income), and collateral, and the communication skills to guide borrowers with clarity and confidence. Top Responsibilities & Performance Benchmarks Prequalify • Connect with all borrower(s) within 24 hours of their Initial Loan Consultation • Collect and review documentation for cash, credit, and income (capacity) qualification Pre-Approve • Accurately pre-approve all eligible borrowers • Handle payment scenario requests • Proactively follow up with pre-approved buyers • Maintain strong communication with Realtor partners Pipeline Management • Onboard newly executed contracts for Rate Lock Consultation • Submit applications to Loan Processing for eDisclosures • Complete Tuesday Updates, Pre-Closing, and Funding Calls • Monitor pipeline daily to remove bottlenecks and ensure on-time closings (95%+) • Proactively solve loan issues—resolving 95%+ before they ever reach the Loan Officer Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Own Day-to-Day This role plays a crucial part in delivering a high-level client and partner experience throughout the home loan process. You’ll manage communication, qualify borrowers, support the Loan Officer, and act as a critical link between prospects, clients, Realtors, and internal team members. Manage Prospects • Respond to borrower inquiries within 2 hours of lead receipt to pre-screen • Schedule Discovery Calls between the borrower(s) and the Loan Officer • Maintain ongoing communication with prospects in the pre-application pipeline • Keep referring Realtor partners updated on all lead activity and status Pre-Qualify Borrowers • Reach out to all new applications within 24 hours of assignment by the Loan Officer • Conduct detailed reviews of the 1003 with borrower(s) and gather needed documentation • Explore all financing options before declining any pre-approval • Keep Realtor partners in the loop on pre-approval status and progress • Stay current on investor guidelines, loan products, and program updates Pre-Approve with Confidence • Clearly explain pre-approval details and boundaries to borrowers • Send supplemental documents as needed (e.g., Pre-Approval Addendum) • Immediately notify Realtor partners when pre-approvals are issued • Prioritize and expedite rush pre-approval requests • Flag potential issues or red flags to the Loan Officer or Team Captain • Dedicate at least one hour each week to proactive follow-ups with pre-approved buyers Pipeline Ownership • Quickly onboard all newly executed contracts for next-step coordination • Perform daily pipeline “gauge checks” to identify loans needing urgent attention • Participate in weekly branch pipeline meetings to track milestones • Deliver Tuesday update calls to borrowers (and agents as needed) • Work closely with the loan processing team to ensure smooth transitions • Contact all parties (borrowers, attorneys, Realtors) 24 hours before contingencies expire • Review Closing Disclosures to confirm accuracy against Loan Estimates • Conduct pre-closing calls with clients (48 hours prior to close) • Make celebratory funding calls to borrowers and agents on closing day • Provide helpful post-closing and funding support • Be available for urgent evening questions via mobile or email • Go above and beyond to exceed the expectations of both borrowers and referral partners Additional ExpectationsProfessionalism: Communicate clearly and professionally in all emails and conversations—no slang or short responses • Client Experience: Act as a trusted concierge and point of contact for borrowers and business partners throughout the process Qualifications: Standard Job Requirements • NMLS license preferred but not required. Must be open to obtaining • Preferred minimum of 3 years in mortgage processing, underwriting, or origination • Proficient in DU/DO, LP, and major investor guidelines • Experience with Loan Origination Systems (Encompass, Arrive, etc.) • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote) • Ability to learn, navigate, and master new technologies • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Excellent time management & organizational skills • Ability to collaborate across the branch and corporate levels • Completion of regulatory & compliance training Compensation: $45,000 - $70,000+ Base + Bonus
