Louis Dreyfus Company, a privately held firm involved primarily in the international trading and merchandising of agricultural commodities, is looking for an ETD Clearing Reporting & Margin Associate to join the Term Commodities Department in the Wilton Office.This position is responsible for performing Regulatory reporting, Margins and Accounting procedures for the futures brokerage division of an international commodity trading firm.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Performs daily verification and submission of regulatory reporting to the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and ICE Futures US (ICE), New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).
- Prepare daily P&L reconciliations with US Exchanges, outside brokers, identify breaks, and follow up items requiring corrective action.
- Responsible for margin calculation and cash transactions verification.
- Post and edit daily journal entry.
- Perform daily exchange fee and brokerage reconciliation.
- Analyze and process monthly brokerage invoices.
- Prepare and email daily exchange settlements.
- Prepare intra and end of day cash estimate schedules.
- Prepare Global P&L on a daily basis, which is reported to Global CFO’s and Global Treasury.
- Oversee others work; ensure that Global P&L, margin and fee schedules prepared by the Operations team are correct.
- Work with Associate to ensure all daily functions are complete
Additional responsibilities:
- Perform special projects as requested within scope of work.
- Provide back up when needed for other departmental functions.
- In the absence of the supervisor, reports analysis of the day’s margin calls and estimates for the following day to Global Treasury and Global CFOs. .
- Assist in the monthly closing process; prepare monthly fee reconciliation schedules when requested.
Required Skills
The following are the required qualifications:
- Knowledge of back office software such as ION RISC.
- Familiarity with brokerage payment systems such as CBOT gains and FIA Atlantis.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, reactive, and challenging trading environments.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and make deadlines.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Required Experience
The following is the required qualifications:
With a Bachelor’s degree,3 (plus) years of experience with Accounting or Financial Analysis
With a High School diploma, 5 years of experience with Accounting or Financial Analysis
The following is the preferred qualification:
- 3+ years of experience in Commodities back office operations environment
EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following is the required qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field with 3 (plus) years of experience in back office operations. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or related field, a High School diploma with 5 years of experience in back office operations.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical climate-controlled office environment. Hours of this role are 7am – 3pm. Extensions of regular working hours are necessary (before or after typical business day) to complete time-sensitive projects, attend training or to respond to emergencies.
