    OVERALL PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

    This position is responsible for providing guidance, leadership and oversight for Industrial activities and teams for LDC Industrial operations in the North American Region specifically the operations group but not limited to that area. This includes providing leadership for the DNA program within the region.  The overall goal is to ensure optimum performance and continuous improvement goals are achieved and financial, safety and employee relations objectives are met.

     

    Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

    +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Guides the development and implementation of strategies and tactics | | to improve operational efficiencies and cost reductions. To include | | but not be limited to training personnel and further developing our | | developing our continuous improvement system. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Performs quarterly coaching reviews of the DNA program and provides | | guidance to facilities. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Collects, records, and analyzes production data to optimize | | efficiencies and run times, improve product quality and/or | | lower costs. | | - Provides the regional oversight and framework for reporting and | | developing continuous improvement programs throughout the region | | including the 5 year master plan for each location. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |   | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Ensures all work is done in accordance with legal regulatory | | guidelines and requirements as well as Company Values and goals. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Maintains good working knowledge of SHE policies, rules and | | procedures applicable to facility and ensures all applicable | | requirements are adhered to. | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+

    Required Skills

    The following are the basic qualifications:

    • Broad and deep knowledge of maintaining/optimizing plant industrial equipment and machinery.
    • Knowledge of Process Safety Management
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, USDA, NFPA).
    • Knowledge of PLC, Instrumentation, Ladder Logic, MCC, and electrical systems.
    • Ability to lead diverse group to achieve organizational goals and build and retain effective teams.
    • Above average verbal and written communications skills.
    • Experience using MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook.
    • Solid problem solving skills
    • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.

                   

    DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY

    Works under broad administrative guidance and instructions to achieve organizational goals. Considers impact of safety, cost, quality, and efficiencies on recommended actions/plans to achieve optimal results.

    Required Experience

    The following are the basic qualifications:

    • 5 to 7 years of continuous improvement experience in/or for an industrial environment.
    • Track record of improving facility efficiencies.
    • Experience leading Continuous Improvement efforts (6 Sigma, Lean, etc.).

    The following are the preferred qualifications:

    • 7+ years of continuous improvement experience in/or for industrial businesses.
    • Prior experience leading multi-site maintenance functions/activities.
    • Experience in either the grain handling, oilseed extraction and processing or ethanol production industries.

    EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    The following are the basic qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other technical/mechanical specialty

    The following are the preferred qualifications: 

    • Master’s degree in Engineering or other technical/mechanical specialty.
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
