    This position applies analytical and business experience and skills to review, assess, and execute all day-to-day (tactical) international logistics commitments/service performance for their team’s respective countries, high priority customer programs and other projects and initiatives. Provides leadership and direction as the primary support for the International Supply Chain Manager within all tactical and functional accountabilities and responsibilities in an intense, high-capacity operating environment.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manage team’s execution priorities and performance for ocean container exports to meet customer commitments and country requirements from direct and intercompany shipping instructions. Review, analyze and address team issues that arise to determine best course of action working with LDC colleagues and external suppliers:

    • Serve as the first escalation point for team members on shipment or documentation issues.
    • Support team members by assisting in timely and cost-effective solutions for shipment planning dilemmas.
    • Provide both specific and broad shipment recaps to internal parties including Trade team as requested.
    • Develop monthly train planning proposal based on projection data for OCP train program to discuss with fellow Team Leads and Management for implementation.
    • Review ocean freight and detention/demurrage invoices as requested by the International Accounts Payables Coordinator to verify validity and responsibility.
    • Book export shipments with designated ocean carriers in a timely and cost-effective manner and complete required data entry into ATLAS.
    • Coordinate with Warehouse Data Team on shipping orders within agreed lead times to optimize mark ready dates, and work together on commercial exceptions and priorities as needed.
    • Ensure timely, accurate and complete data entry for export order movement set up from interior and port transload warehouses to marine terminals into ATLAS.
    • After notification by freight forwarder, ocean carrier, warehouse, trucker and/or Drayage team of shipment split or roll, update ATLAS with revised shipment information, and update CSR and freight forwarder on shipment and shipping instruction changes.
    • Follow LDCTL train, terminal block and storage program processes and commitments for complete Integra visibility to ensure on-time pickups and train departures. Review and suggest solutions when capacity/flow conflicts arise.
    • Coordinate with Drayage team to provide complete and accurate booking information including Earliest Return Date (ERD); rail ramp; inland cutoff; port cutoffs; and ensure ATLAS has complete load information – mark, container and seal number(s) to meet ocean carrier booking documentation cutoff.
    • Manage shipment changes and issues after ocean carrier booking confirmation and shipments underway including and not limited to change of destination (COD’s); quantity changes, and schedule changes

    • Primary support for Manager, International Logistics in the following key areas:

    • Day-to-day problem analysis and decision-making within the Team.
    • Promote tactical relationships with ocean carriers, Mallory Alexander, logistics service providers and government agencies as required.
    • Identify, develop, prioritize and implement systems enhancement, process improvements and tools to help the team effectiveness.
    • Cross train in all International Logistics team accountabilities to serve as a backup to Management as needed.
    • Act as liaison with Inventory and Sales Management (ISM), and International Execution, as needed, to ensure accuracy and alignment of team’s business processes with other teams.
    • Develop the rest of the team into a cohesive, high performing unit within the International Logistics team.
    • Reinforce desired personal behaviors and performance expectations.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Required Skills

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint and One Drive.
    • Must be able to create Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables and use Z-look ups to review data and make decisions 
    • Must be able to effectively communicate performance expectations verbally and in writing with all levels of LDC organization and external suppliers, and make recommendations to facilitate change
    • Must possess organizational skills with the ability to organize multiple responsibilities
    • Must have strong prioritization skills and the ability to identify and communicate priorities to their team daily
    • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Must maintain confidentiality of information received

    Required Experience

    • 3-5 years’ experience directly managing day-to-day ocean container export activities including bookings, shipment planning and management, tracking and tracing and ocean carrier relationships

    EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    • Bachelor’s degree, and Transportation, Logistics and/or Supply Chain focus preferred.
