    This Full Stack Engineer position is within US Core Banking’s Check POD. This POD is made up of applications that support US Check Processing. This includes accepting electronic check feeds in from various feeds / services, processing of those checks, sending them off for posting to the corresponding deposit and Loan systems, handling check exceptions, returns, imaging etc. The applications within the Check POD are a mix of Distributed / Window based as well as Mainframe Based. The Check POD team is made up of both onshore US and offshore (India) resources.

    Here's what you can expect:

    • Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilizing their skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational and production support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand.

    • End-to-end accountability for a product or service, identifying and developing the most appropriate Technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey. Provide support in identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service. Availability for after-hours production support on an as needed basis.

    • Liaise with other engineers (onshore & offshore), architects, Agile lead and business stakeholders, to understand and drive the product or service's direction. Ensure quality by participation in unit and integration tests, and supporting Business testing.

    • Keep up-to-date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable. Establish critical NFRs for the solution and participate in the definition of others. Participate in SAFE Agile ceremonies, such as Pre- and Post-PI Planning, Architecture Sync, Demos.

    For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $112,100 and $168,200.

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

    Requirements

    Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

    • Strong Mainframe experience in JCL, DB2, CICS, COBOL, including mainframe API experience, knowledge of JCL/Mapping

    • Any File Format experience - file formats like EDI, ANSI, XML, MT's.

    • Relevant System development, or design experience in delivery role in a Banking/Financial services environment. Experience in payments (Check / ACH) would be a big plus.

    • Production Support experience along with GPC or Cloud related exposure

    • Experience with installation and integration of Vendor products, requirements gathering and analysis, with background working in the Agile environment, leading projects / driving analysis and / or design

    • Good knowledge of JIRA and Confluence

    • Experience of working within a large, complex and geographically dispersed organization (including matrix management structure and across time zones, working with remote/offshore team members).
