JOB DESCRIPTION
American Express’ Global Advertising & Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing and experiences. Within GABM sits the Global Brand Content & Media team who is responsible for building best in class brand content across channels and audiences (including Amex’s internal creative agency, OnBrand), driving impact and innovation through global media and analytics, and delivering cultural and brand platforms that bring the Powerful Backing of American Express to life.
We’re seeking a Manager of Global Media Brand Safety that will help our team accomplish the following
- Support the execution of our paid Media Brand Safety strategy and governance process across the Enterprise
- Execute media plan vetting workflows, ensuring media activity adheres to our media brand safety guidelines
- Maintain tracking systems to monitor enterprise performance and support sharing of results & best practices
- Support the development and maintenance of brand safety frameworks, processes & guidance
- Execute operational controls to ensure consistency and compliance across media activations
- Support the Enterprise Brand Safety Center of Excellence (COE), partnering with key stakeholders across GABM, BU marketers, and enterprise marketing functions
RESPONSIBILITIES
- End-to-end program management: Manage day-to-day brand safety governance workflows, including coordinating approvals, maintaining documentation, and tracking key milestones. Ensure compliance requirements and operational processes are followed consistently.
- Ongoing evaluation and tracking: Track brand safety performance and support reporting processes. Maintain tools and systems used for approvals, monitoring and highlight areas for improvement.
- Stakeholder management: Partner with internal stakeholders such as GCO, Compliance and Corporate Affairs & Communications and external agencies to support execution of brand safety processes. Ensure timely communication and alignment across teams.
- Process execution & controls: Execute core COE processes supporting updates to guidelines. Monitor industry developments and escalate relevant risks or considerations.
- Communication & enablement: Support enterprise communications, including maintaining distribution lists, monitoring shared inboxes, and assisting in the coordination of training sessions and webinars.
- Audit & compliance: Support brand safety audits by gathering documentation, tracking compliance, and identifying gaps for remediation.
- Operational management: Coordinate status meetings with key partners, manage timelines and deliverables, and support billing and contract processes for third-party vendors.
- Innovation: Contribute to process improvements and support testing of new tools and technologies to enhance brand safety capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5+ years agency/brand experience in marketing, consulting and/or strategy
- Familiarity with digital, social & offline paid media channels
- Understanding of the paid media, social and advertising landscape, emerging technologies and platforms, as well as brand risk and safety controls required to protect a global brand
- Detail-orientated, with outstanding project management & accountancy skills (handling timelines, processes and media implementation needs)
- Self-starter and problem solver who thrives in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment. Able to add clarity to and navigate ambiguous situations.
- Infectious curiosity and passionate about innovation, creative problem solving, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate effectively with others and build positive relationships across a large organization
- Outstanding presentation skills with the confidence to present to across various levels of leadership
- Superb organizational and proven track record of managing and navigating wide-ranging organizations and processes and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Strong team player with ability to build relationships and influence decisions to get things done
- Passion for innovation, technology, and brand marketing
- Bachelor’s degree
