    Specifically, the corporate staff focuses on areas of operations such as event coordination, project management, customer service, compensation, business intelligence, wholesaling, training, marketing communications and risk mitigation.

    The RiverSource Life Insurance internship program offers participating individuals a summer internship in one of the corporate staff areas with a variety of business management opportunities.

    Responsibilities may vary depending on assigned project and could include:

    • Assist with development of creative concepts and marketing strategies for promoting annuity products and brand programs to various internal and external audiences.
    • Develop content for promotional materials including emails, direct mail, newsletters, website and social media as needed.
    • Assist with copywriting and editing.
    • Assist with creating training materials including presentations, handouts and invitations.
    • Coordinate with in house creative agency to create print, online and other collateral materials.
    • Provide project management from engagement to implementation and monitoring.
    • Assist with analysis of website, digital tool and email analytics.
    • Develop and maintain reporting for key projects.
    • Develop, manage and implement communications plans tied to overall campaign strategy.

  • Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Junior status at a 4 year college or university.
    • Majors considered: marketing, journalism, mass communications or related field.
    • Excellent academic performance with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience writing, proofing, and editing
    • Demonstrated leadership ability
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Dynamic interpersonal and consultative skills
    • Ability to influence and strong relationship management skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong creativity.
    • Working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Ability to gather and analyze data to develop recommendations.
    • Experience with social media.
    • Project management skills.
    • Experience and/or Interest in the financial services industry, specifically life insurance.
    • Experience in marketing, communications and/or training.
    • Ameriprise Financial does not offer internships for students with F-1 visas.
