    For over 200 years, the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) has rigorously vetted and compiled the latest medical research in support of physicians and their patients. From the first uses of anesthesia to the most recent cardiology and cancer treatments, NEJM has helped generations of clinicians enhance their knowledge and improve patient care.

     

    Contribute to this mission. The Social Media Manager manages social media and audience engagement for NEJM, the flagship NEJM Group product, as well as NEJM Resident 360 and NEJM Group corporate. This role contributes to building awareness of NEJM weekly content and multimedia among physicians, medical residents, and medical students by compiling engaging posts across social media to invite those who are interested to learn more.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Develop and maintain a master social media calendar for NEJM Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube properties, which together have a combined reach of 3 million users
    • Manage posting and monitoring of NEJM Resident 360 and NEJM Group Twitter feeds
    • Use existing assets to develop traffic-driving content and marketing posts
    • Post about live meetings and events, including scientific meetings where NEJM has simultaneous publications
    • Gather and analyze data from social media platforms to track post performance and customer conversions
    • Lead monthly social media meeting to review performance for all NEJM Group products
    • Ensure that NEJM and NEJM Group brand guidelines are followed in all social media communication
    • Monitor social media properties and answer or refer business questions
    • Identify and monitor social media influencers in medicine with whom we could potentially engage
    • Manage budget for paid social media
    • Keep abreast of best practices and advise other NEJM Group products (NEJM Catalyst, NEJM 医学前沿, NEJM Journal Watch, and NEJM Knowledge+) on social media trends

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
    • Five years’ related experience, ideally in public relations, journalism or social media is also required.
    • Marketing experience in the medical or biotech field desirable.
    • Experience with social media tools and Adobe Photoshop are necessary.
    • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, and advertising platforms for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, a plus.
    • Discretion and superb interpersonal and communication skills are needed, as are excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
    • Familiarity with medical content is a plus, as is a motivation to develop effective ways to engage users with NEJM Group content.

    • Prior experience in luxury hotels or resorts preferred
    • Prior customer service experience required
    • Able to meet company’s grooming standards and policies
