Why You Need To Learn About Capital One:

Diving into one of the most popular frameworks in development today, we’ll discuss how unique experiences and backgrounds can serve Agile and other important non-engineering roles. There are many specific skills that come in handy when operating as an agilist and we will explore how agile roles impact teams directly. Sometimes technology problems are really just people problems and the art of navigating the corporate landscape is about relationships and interactions. If you have ever wanted to use your unique background to improve team delivery, dynamics, and morale without paying for a team therapist, some of these shared experiences may help with that goal.

Kate Key is an agile enthusiast, inventor, and the master of “how to have the most random careers before the age of 30.” Her eclectic background includes working with medical and financial industries helping teams work smarter as well as a career working in the mental health field. In addition to various agile roles, she has served in program and project roles in technology and currently serves as the Model Policy and Model Risk Manager for Capital One. She is passionate about educating others about the other important roles of technology and the positive impact that diverse backgrounds can have on teams. She advocates for a broader technology education for all who wish to enter the field so they can appreciate the many different players of the game.

Kate graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2008 and is currently in year 2 of a Masters Degree program in Technology Management from Georgetown University. Kate has been with Capital One since 2017.
