Officer/AVP, Compliance Testing New York, NY/en-US/mizuhoamericas/job/New-York-NY/Officer-AVP--Compliance-Testing_R1973/apply ALCD The Americas Legal and Compliance Department (ALCD) is divided broadly into two main functions: the Legal function, which manages legal risk, and the Compliance function, which manages compliance and regulatory risk. ATO The Americas Testing Office (ATO) is responsible for compliance risk assessment and testing/monitoring of Mizuhos operations in the Americas. Responsibilities Conduct compliance reviews * Perform compliance testing and monitoring, identify issues, make recommendations and report the result to the management team * Track the issues and the status of remediation Perform compliance risk assessment on themes tested * Identify Key Risk Indicators and perform risk assessment on themes tested * Participate in risk assessment discussions Analyze the regions (the Americas) compliance status and compliance framework * Review Compliance Action Program, participate in Compliance Committee, review external/internal exam/audit reports, etc. Liaison with Head Office and offices in the region. * Function as a liaison with the Head Office and the offices in the Americas * Provide training and guidance to the Compliance Officers and the business Conduct other related tasks of ATO * Responsibilities exclude Anti-Money Laundering Qualifications * Eligible to work in the US * Bachelors degree * JD, Bar or CPA qualification * 3+ years of work experience in corporate banking compliance * Minimum 1 year of testing or audit experience * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the team and the department * Ability to travel (below 5%) Company Overview Mizuho Americas is a leading financial institution comprising several legal entities, which together offer clients corporate and investment banking, financing, securities, treasury services, asset management, research and more.
