Department Profile: The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans, and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review. Compensation Controllers is seeking to fill an Associate position. This position is responsible for the functions related to the accounting for US benefit plans and firm-wide pension, and forecasting and reporting for global compensation and benefits. Responsibilities: - Accounting for US medical, pension, postretirement benefits and 401(k) plans - Prepare monthly global fringes analytical report for senior management team - Prepare expense analysis and forecasting of global benefits at the Firm- wide and segment reporting levels - Lead monthly call with subject matter experts to develop and disseminate forecasting guidance for fixed compensation and benefits expense to segment controllers - Work closely with segment controllers to develop baseline forecast and consolidate the data at firm level for monthly submission to Human Resources - Prepare compensation related analysis in support of bank and broker-dealer regulatory reporting - Perform monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliation, substantiation, and certification (i.e. 3Rs sign off) - Assist in the preparation of SEC 10-Q, 10-K and MD&A analysis for consolidated employee benefit expenses - Assist in the preparation of the employee benefit plan financial statements - Research employee benefit plans processing discrepancies and respond to inquiries from various internal clients, colleagues, internal and external auditors - Maintain and update strong control environment/audit documentation - Respond and interact with various internal clients (HR, Tax, Business Unit Controllers, and Payroll), external record-keepers and external auditors - BS in Accounting/Finance - CPA preferred - 2 to 4 years of accounting experience - Strong technical accounting, research skills and analytical skills - Excellent communication, leadership, and multi-tasking skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
