    02-Jan-2019 Title Underwriting Intern Job Description Hartford Steam Boiler is currently recruiting for our 2019 Summer Intern Program. In order to be considered, you must be in an undergraduate university program (rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior). As part of your internship, you will be working with one of our key business areas in which you will be assigned a mentor where you will be exposed to various types of work and projects, while collaborating with a number of experienced professionals in our organization. As part of this program you will gain exposure to valuable resume building opportunities, networking activities and a final group project to complete the experience. This Underwriting Intern position will be involved in projects that help the rates & filings and governance team by providing research, analysis into assigned project areas to help the teams they support prepare, support or change existing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. Maintain and update country wide product Department of Insurance Objection directory. The successful applicant will assist with scanning and organizing existing files, creating and organizing new files, updating our Pg. 14 database, preparation of state transmittal forms, and other activites as needed. Activities would include: Backfilling the Objection Database with any objections that have not yet been uploaded to it Assist in the testing of the Profiling portion of DCIP when it becomes available to test Working with the DCIP team to transfer existing Objection information into the new DCIP platform from the Objection Database Requisition Number 2644BR Qualifications Required Qualifications: Undergraduate college students that are Business school or Liberal Art majors. Skills: Organized, good communication skills, strong quantitative and analytical skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, Ability to foster teamwork. Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. Working knowledge of MS Word, Access and Excel.
