EEO/AA- M/F/Disability/Protected Veteran Status/Genetic Data Summary Accountant, Payroll and Benefit Payments P.2 Responsible for completing monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations and all source to source reconciliations required of the payroll and benefit payment team. Requires an in depth knowledge of the flow of all transactions including impact to financial reporting and tax compliance Provides subject matter expertise for the processes completed by payroll and benefit payments and provides guidance and recommendations for process improvements. Completes the detail review and audits for both the bi-weekly payroll files and the daily benefit payment batches to ensure accuracy and completeness. Resolves complicated processing requests. Serves as back up for tax compliance. Uses knowledge of the transactions and processes to lead special projects. * Audits payroll journal bi-weekly and ensures proper earning and deduction coding in ADP is accurately mapped to the general ledger account codes. * Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly, analyzing and resolving all variances immediately for Payroll and Benefit Payments. Ensures benefit deductions codes in ADP match the vendors reports and works with Human Resources to resolve any discrepancies. * Analyzes current procedures and processes for Benefit Payments and Payroll and makes efficiency and risk mitigation recommendations to Management. * Maintains knowledge of tax compliance and correspondence to support the tax analysis as requested. * Resolves complex processing requests and acts as Subject Matter Expert on daily batch processing and monthly annuities processing. * Leads testing efforts for system upgrades, implementations, and patches, and any other special projects. * Supports annual 1099-R preparation and other year-end processes. * Audits the daily payment batch files and monthly annuity payment batch and support. * Compiles the monthly transactions into summary monthly journal entries. * Serves as back up for daily batch processing and monthly annuities processing. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field 3-5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
