Nelnet is looking for an email marketer to drive engagement and conversion. Keys to success in this role are an ability to create, manage, and analyze daily email campaigns as well as use results to optimize and scale. This role has responsibility for execution, measurement and reporting of the email channel as a whole. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working closely with a variety of cross-functional teams involved with list segmentation, email creation and client support. Responsibilities Be seen as an email technology expert and recommend new email techniques and best practices across the company Drive high delivery rates, positive sender reputation, and overall deliverability by demonstrating an overall understanding of systems, processes and strategies that exceed best practices and in compliance with CAN-SPAM laws Establish, update, and maintain procedures to enhance efficiencies and design materials for email trainings and onboarding Proactively research opportunities to evolve email communications with new functionality and features to make continuous process improvements; identify solutions and communicate necessary steps for implementation Think end-to-end across customer journey and sales funnel, and utilize segmentation, automation and customization, to create targeted and effective email nurture campaigns Perform day-to-day email marketing activities including, but not limited to, campaign creation, database management, testing, tracking and deployment of one-time, recurring, and dynamic content-driven campaigns Measure and analyze email and campaign performance metrics, develop routine reports and generate insights to continuously iterate and improve engagement and conversion Management of testing and deployment process with internal stakeholders to ensure optimization for existing and new campaigns Assess, maintain, manage, and track multiple projects to ensure due dates, and overall quality is met Act as a liaison between internal and external clients, business owners, and production teams, as well as other areas as needed Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience EXPERIENCE: 3+ year experience in email marketing Hands on experience with email marketing tools Intermediate proficiency with HTML/CSS preferred Proficient in excel Experience with CRM systems, integrations and features preferred COMPETENCIES SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: Proven results in email marketing, marketing automation and database segmentation Strong understanding of customer segmentation and targeting along with customer lifecycles Highly proficient in analyzing campaign performance, provide actionable insights, and driving continuous improvements to email performance Fluency with template development, targeting, and personalization Adept in navigating the sales and conversion funnel Strong knowledge of best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to email Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced organization with a high attention to detail Excellent project management, follow up, and organization skills EEO Statement Nelnet is an Equal Opportunity Employer, complies with Executive Order 11246, and takes affirmative action to ensure that qualified applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to race, color, religion/creed, national origin, gender, or sex, marital status, age, disability, use of a guide dog or service animal, sexual orientation, military/veteran status, or any other status protected by Federal or State law or local ordinance.
