We are seeking a summer intern to support our external communications team.

This position reports directly to the Corporate Communications Specialist. The majority of the time the role will be remote; however, visits to the company headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD may be required.

THE CANDIDATE MAY WORK ON ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING, BUT NOT RESTRICTED TO:

• Research, write, proofread, and provide input for corporate messages
• Create briefing materials for various events (such as media interviews)
• Assist in the preparation of the weekly newsflow and dashboards
• Other tasks as assigned

DURATION: Summer 2021 (8 weeks)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's Degree program in communications, public relations, journalism, or similar.

• A strong interest in learning more about media relations, as well as the biotechnology industry
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with team members at different levels
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, resourcefulness,flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
