    We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Controller to join our Accounting department in Gaithersburg, MD and assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing all of the Company's US-based accounting operations, including the G&A, R&D, and Revenue teams. This position will report directly to the Corporate Controller, but will partner with various groups within the organization depending on task, including Financial Planning & Analysis, Supply Chain, and Global Program Management, to ensure thorough understanding of various initiatives and timely completion of tasks.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Oversee the monthly close and preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and schedules; quarterly and annual financial reports must meet GAAP and SEC reporting timetables and guidelines
    • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, processes and support systems, including assistance with the development/implementation of new policies as the business grows
    • Review of entries to the General Ledger and Account Analyses to identify adjustments
    • Prepare the monthly consolidation file associated with the Company's 3 consolidated entities
    • Ensure the accurate recognition of stat to GAAP adjustments for foreign subsidiaries.
    • Assist in the oversight of billing and revenue recognition activities
    • Play a key role in the near-term implementation of a new, global ERP
    • Play a key role in the near-term implementation of a new 'procure to pay' system
    • Support external auditors, SOX 404 auditors and other consultants
    • Preparation of SOX 404 documentation including flowcharts and the drafting of policies and procedures
    • Participation in the preparation and review of SEC disclosures for the 10-Q and 10-K and any other SEC filings
    • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • B.S. degree in Accounting and CPA
    • 12-15 years related accounting experience. Public accounting and/or pharmaceutical experience
    • 5-7 years supervisory experience
    • Strong leadership with ability to coach and develop team members
    • Strong understanding of guidance related to the accounting for revenue, leases, and stock-based compensation (e.g., ASC 606, 958-605, 842, and 718)
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Government Contract and job costing experience a plus
    • Proficiency with mid-size Accounting software including the writing of reports, Navision preferred.
    • Strong analytical and writing skills
    • Must be proficient in MS Excel and have a working knowledge of other MS Office Software
