Systems Developer - Actuarial The Actuarial Systems Developer will maintain the financial reporting actuarial data in SQL Server. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING: Developing and maintaining automated processes and queries Working with financial reporting actuaries on ad-hoc analysis Producing processes, data analytics and reports to support business decisions within the Actuarial Financial Reporting department and also across the corporation THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, mathematics or similar field Minimum three to five years of experience with software development Proficiency with writing SQL queries and developing stored procedures Understanding of relational database systems Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Willingness to learn new concepts Drive to improve existing processes and build new ones Desire to work well in a team environment Experience with Windows batch programming or Linux shell scripting Experience with a general-purpose compiled or interpreted language (C#, Python, C/C++) Experience with a source control system (Git, SVN, Mercurial)PREFERRED: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Basic understanding of insurance and finance concepts Exposure to SQL Service Integration Services (SSIS) WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required.
