    SUMMARY

    The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering a variety of technical, operational, and soft skills training programs, focusing on all areas, including product implementation and changes, policy and procedures, compliance requirements, and related sales and service initiatives.  This position requires a high level of expertise in area of loan products and lending related training delivery. The Training Specialist must demonstrate the desired behaviors of exemplary service and professionalism of Georgia’s Own Credit Union.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

    • Delivers and/or coordinates training to new and existing employees of varying skill levels in all business lines of the credit union, with specific expertise and facilitation of lending training and sales and service in the areas of product knowledge, cross-selling, and referral strategies
    • Assists in the design, development and maintenance of training solutions for a variety of mediums (i.e. classroom, web-based, blended learning), including production of all course materials and other printed and electronic material such as notes, handouts, reference guides, manuals and exercises
    • Maintains a working knowledge of regulatory and corporate policies, guidelines, and procedures, as well as credit union products & services; continually monitors training programs for effectiveness and adjusts training materials as needed to address changes in policy and business conditions
    • Collaboratively works with sales leaders, department managers, and front line employees to identify training and performance improvement needs
    • Represents Training & Development as a key partner in lending and sales & service initiatives to support our sales strategy and meet organizational expectations
    • Conducts training follow-up and evaluation of learner job performance to ensure transfer of knowledge
    • Maintains relationships with existing vendors to provide specific or additional training for employees as needed or requested
    • Assists on special projects as assigned and credit union initiatives as needed/required
    • Stays up-to-date on new training techniques, tools, and delivery methods
    • Comply with policies and procedures and understand changes in regulatory requirements, with particular attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and with robbery procedures

     

     

    Required Skills

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  

    • Experience in a variety of job responsibilities at a financial institution or experience facilitating training for a variety of job roles in a financial institution

    • Minimum 3 years training facilitation experience along with 1 year participation in instructional design processes

    • Strong facilitation skills with the demonstrated ability to present information in a clear, concise, and confident manner

    • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver training programs utilizing skills in instructional design, program design, and training technologies

    • Proven sales coaching skills; experience in delivering inside sales training, coaching, and mentoring  in lending and retail environments

    • Strong work ethic; organized, self-sufficient, motivated and able to work independently and as part of team; ability to manage multiple individual tasks simultaneously

    • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

    • Ability to travel between various locations/branches as required to support training needs (20%)

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum 3 years training facilitation experience along with 1 year participation in instructional design processes
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Adult Education or related field; a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Training certification preferred
    • Learning Management System (LMS) experience preferred

     

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation.  Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table.  Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs.  Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
