    Job Description

    Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Clinical Operations Analyst to join our Clinical Review team in our New York office.

    In this position, you will play a role in supporting clinical programs and strategic initiatives by formulating impact analyses, developing monitoring tools, and tracking our successes. The Clinical Review team is one of Oscar's most important clinical functions - we encourage evidence-based practice through utilization management (UM) to ensure our members get access to the right care - particularly those who need it most.

     

    DELIVERABLES: WHAT YOU HAVE TO ACHIEVE

    Here at Oscar, we move quickly and are perpetually introducing new ideas. As an Analyst on the Clinical Review team, you'll be responsible for supporting clinical programs and strategic clinical initiatives: 

    • Build a deep understanding of utilization management and how our clinical programs fit into the big picture
    • Become well-acquainted with internal tools and technical processes, in particular database querying and dashboard creation
    • Build complex frameworks and support analytics to predict the impact and demonstrate the value of our programs and initiatives
    • Leverage data to make decisions and streamline processes
    • Query clinical review cases for clinical audits and UM program deep dives
    • Provide document management and distribution support of clinical policies
    • Become comfortable with how regulatory and quality requirements apply to our programs and initiatives
    • Improve existing workflows and find automation opportunities; manage reporting functions
    • Provide support on regulatory audits and quality accreditation surveys, as needed
    • Support the team for expansion into new markets, as needed

    Must-have qualifications and expertise include:

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study (e.g., Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science), 2-3 years of experience working with data, and/or data science certification
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Able to independently write SQL queries
    • Experience performing impact analyses and ongoing monitoring / success tracking
    • Experience building metrics dashboards
    • Structured/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Acute attention to detail with the ability to zoom in on data points and make sense of patterns
    • Effectively and efficiently collaborate with teams, peers, and leaders
    • A curious mind and innate passion for making things work better
    • Successful time management and organization skills
    • Able to execute under pressure and tight deadlines
    • Ability to break down complex analyses and communicate ideas simply and clearly
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
