    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The execution department is responsible for the execution of the commercial contracts related to all grains and oilseeds domestic origination, processing and transformation for a global leading merchant and processor of agricultural goods. The Manager of Execution, with respect to this merchandising activity, directs the timely and accurate performance of all procedures and personnel necessary to render a commodity contract complete as an instrument for the company.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DUTIES


    ACT AS A LEADER FOR THE CONTRACT EXECUTION TEAM TO DRIVE EFFICIENT, QUALITY PROCESSES. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:


    Leads a team in all aspects of the cash settlement and invoicing processes performed by the execution department:

    • Establishes standard operating procedures to complete execution tasks
    • Reviews and approves cash transactions pertaining to commodity trading
    • Supervises settlement and invoicing personnel
    • Manage a function that is the front-line contact with our counterparties.

    Define needs and requirements related to the contract management IT systems design/improvement as it relates to the settlement / invoicing process:

    • Explores software enhancements and improvements with IT function
    • Explore process improvements and process automation
    • Supports the credit and tax departments with vendor and customer setup that complies with company policy
    • Works in conjunction with the Position and Daily PnL group in the development of contract processes
    • Assists the Financial Accounting and Position/Daily PnL group in developing processes for recognizing and recording settlement related liabilities (i.e. Brokerage, Freight, etc.).
    • Provides direct oversight to RIN specialist who is responsible for EPA renewable fuel standards compliance
    • Provides monthly reporting on key execution activity as required by the Region and Group.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Ensures execution transactions post to the proper general ledger accounts with Financial Accounting
    • Provides support in reconciling settlement related general ledger accounts to Financial Accounting
    • Provides comprehensive training programs that promote growth and cross-training for team members
    • Leads continuous improvement efforts for team procedures, processes, resources, and systems
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong quantitative/analytical skills, a broad range of computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite products. Finally, successful candidates will posses a strong bias for action, ability to work with minimal direction in a fast paced environment and a tolerance for ambiguity.

    Required Experience

    Successful candidates will also have 5 or more years of direct supervisory experience with commodities contract settlement activities.
