  • Responsibilities

    This is the top leadership at the Seattle Export facility and is responsible for oversight of all areas of daily operation including operations, employee relations, maintenance, safety, health and environmental management and overall housekeeping. This role is also key point of contact for labor relations with the International Longshore Workers Union.

    ACT AS A LEADER FOR YOUR TEAM TO DRIVE EFFICIENT, SAFE PRODUTION OF QUALITY PRODUCTS AND PROCESSES. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    Operations and Maintenance • Operates and maintains assets safely and in compliance with Company and Governmental policies and guidelines • Oversees daily operation: logistics, loading/unloading of grain, maintenance, and housekeeping. • Involved with the development of budgets, Capital Projects, improvements, and maintenance plans • Implements, manages, and communicates operating and maintenance policies and procedures. • Ensures that performance measurements are appropriately managed. • Interfaces with LDC commercial Teams to ensure daily operations efficiently. • Overall responsible for maintaining the quality and quantity of grain stocks. • Develops goals and objectives for the location staff and implements training programs. • Understands and acts upon the commercial customers’ needs. • Collaborates with the Regional Manager on construction projects. • Collaborates with the Regional Manager and the local plant supervisors to identify opportunities for improvement to the facilities and to resolve production/operating issues.

    Safety, Health and Environmental • Assists with the implementation of safety and regulatory policies/procedures • Overall responsibility for safety and security of the facility • Involved in the continuous improvement process and training to improve SHE • Reviews all incident reports and is involved with corrective action plans

    Employee Supervision • Provides training to direct reports. • Implements corporate programs. • Resolves personnel issues (consults with direct supervisor as needed on certain issues) • Oversees staffing of the facility. • Conducts annual performance appraisals and coaching

    Required Skills

    Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a grain export facility. 

    Required Experience

    Successful candidates will possess at least 8 years’ experience in grain/oilseed handling operations (preferably in a supervisory role) or eight years of prior supervisory experience in manufacturing/production/receiving operations, including responsibility for meeting production and safety standards. Experience working with unionized facility is preferred.
