    Plaza Home Mortgage, Inc., a national wholesale and correspondent mortgage company headquartered in San Diego, California, has a full-time opportunity for a Jacksonville area based  ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE FOR OUR USA, (JAX) WHOLESALE DIVISION.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

    The Inside Account Executive is responsible for the solicitation of new business for the company, development of marketing materials, and recommending the approval of new brokers to the wholesale manager. Inside Account Executives also maintain existing relationships with wholesale broker production sources.

     

    ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Must comply with all BSA/AML requirements as well as any mandatory changes. The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The associate will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the manager. Job duties may change as required by needs of company. Must complete all required industry and compliance training as required by Plaza Home Mortgage.

     

    1. Add value to the broker client base through thorough knowledge of Plaza’s products and underwriting guidelines - which includes conventional, FHA, and VA.
    2. Answer client questions and respond to loan status inquiries during processing.
    3. Provide training of company policies and procedures, as well as current regulatory requirements.
    4. Maintain familiarity with the applicable state licensing requirements.
    5. Take application from wholesale source clients for client approval by Plaza.
    6. Answer client questions and respond to loan status inquiries during processing.
    7. Assist in the development of new marketing materials and distribute materials to existing and prospective client base.
    8. Responsible for gathering all applicable financials, resumes, licensees, and contract documentation for submission to senior management.
    9. Maintain contact with client base on a daily basis to solicit new business and request new loan lock-ins.
    10. Monitor company’s computer-based register on a daily basis for prompt cancellation of dead files and timely delivery of live files.
    11. Provide training and conduct informational meetings for the client base.
    12. Establish controls to track monthly rates, lock-ins, client contacts, monies due on extended locks, and other information as required.
    13. Update lock-in file and purge cancelations and expired locks daily.

     

    PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES:

    An Account Executive shall not engage in the following loan origination activities. (Please note that the activities described below that define what constitutes a “loan originator” are broader than the one under state loan originator licensing laws because Congress chose to use broader language in the Truth in Lending Act’s definition.)

    An Account Executive shall not:

    1. Arrange a residential mortgage loan credit transaction.
    2. Assist a consumer or mortgage broker on behalf of a consumer in applying for credit. An Account Executive assists a consumer in obtaining or applying for credit by advising the consumer on particular credit terms that are or may be available to the consumer’s financial characteristics.
    3. Offer or negotiate credit terms, including rates, fees, and other costs.
    4. Make a loan.
    5. Refer a consumer loan applicant to a loan originator, including without limitation (a) Plaza Home Mortgage, (b) a loan originator employed by Plaza Home Mortgage, (c) a third-party lender, or (d) a loan originator employed by a third-party lender. Referring is also an activity included under each of the activities of offering, arranging, or assisting a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain a loan.
    6. Advertise or communicate to the public that the Account Executive can or will perform any loan origination services described above.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    · High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree desired

    · At least one year of recent experience in the mortgage banking industry.

    · Working knowledge of mortgage business such as loan processing and mortgage industry standards

    · Strong customer service experience with excellent client relation skills

    · Exceptional phone etiquette

    · Outstanding problem-solving skills

    · Ability to work in both a team and individual environment

    · Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

    · Professional demeanor to effectively interact with all branch and company personnel as well as brokers.

    · Strong attention to detail with the ability to efficiently and consistently produce accurate work and manage time.

    · Proficiency in computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet Browsers.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

    This position receives regular supervision and instructions from the Divisional Vice President as well as guidance from the Corporate Office staff. Guidance and instruction from the Internal Audit Manager. Incumbent makes some decisions within scope of job responsibilities in accordance with company policies as well as state and federal laws.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    INTERACTION WITH OTHERS:

    Internally: Corporate branch managers and staff (including Client Service Representatives, Wholesale Loan Processors, Underwriters, Loan Registration Specialists, and closers/funders).

    Externally: Approved Brokers and Correspondents, Investors, Mortgage Insurers, and other industry partners.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB:

    This position requires constant talking, hearing, and use of hands and fingers, as well as frequent standing and walking as well as occasional stooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, bending at waist, crouching and reaching with hands and arms. Incumbent must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Good vision at both close range and at distance is required.

     

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

    This position works primarily indoors in an office setting with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. A moderate noise level is typical for the work environment of this job. Some rare travel by car or plane may be required.
