SUMMARY
The Financial Resource Management Unit (FRM) is responsible for estimating, reporting and managing capital across Mizuho Americas. Mizuho seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as a PORTFOLIO RISK ASSOCIATE / AVP. The employee will work with FRM to support Mizuho’s capabilities in developing and enhancing the institution’s market risk capital calculation and reporting framework. The employee will serve as a key contact point to address cross functional queries and matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform market and credit risk capital calculations for all Mizuho Americas businesses and products (banking, broker-dealer and derivatives trading)
Conduct quantitative analysis to explain variations in the risk capitals under US and Japanese Basel approaches.
Prepare and distribute various reports of risk capitals.
Liaise with all Mizuho entities in the collection and integration of risk and capital data.
Prepare analysis in response to audit and regulatory inquires on risk capitals.
Help with the statistical analyses in forecasting risk capitals.
Participate in the initiative to consolidate all capital calculations.
Set up and automate new capital calculations and reporting process as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
3+ years’ experience in risk management or other analytical area preferred.
Master degree of mathematics, statistics or finance is preferred.
Good understanding of market risk concepts (Greeks, VaR, stress testing, etc.) or credit risk concepts (PD, LGD, EAD, ratings, etc.)
Working knowledge of regulatory and economic risk capitals.
Working knowledge of trading products (equity, bonds, ABS/MBS, derivatives, etc.).
Proficiency with Excel, SQL or Python.
Effective communication skills: oral, written, listening and presentation.
