  • Responsibilities

    The Retirement Product Specialist works with internal and external partners in multiple regions across the country to help develop and prospect new relationships with Financial Advisors. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with the Retail Consultant teams to support their retirement plan sales activity.

    This is a junior level sales position where you will learn the asset management business and become an expert in our Retirement investment products and philosophy. Core competencies include excellent organizational and time management skills with strong motivation to develop retirement plans expertise. The candidate must be a collaborator who can also work independently to build relationships within the Distribution organization and with our clients.

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Prepare, update and manage various report production and process
    • Manage relevant vendor relationships and communicate updates as needed
    • Produce Brightscope reports as needed to support Advisor meetings and targeted sales opportunities
    • Conduct ad hoc research as requested by internal sales consultants to support business development efforts
    • Work with retail Consultant teams on proposal requests, including providing requested information and validating proposal data
    • Handle daily administrative tasks to ensure maximum business efficiency, e.g., update and maintain contact management system
    • Respond to inbound client and prospect phone calls, articulate fund objectives, discuss financial markets (domestic and international) and retirement strategies
    • Cover for internal sales consultants when they are out of the office

  • Qualifications
    • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree at time of application
    • One to two years relevant experience in financial services industry
    • Fundamental knowledge of the financial/capital markets, mutual funds and retirement plan products
    • Strong work ethic, high integrity, and strong values
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong sales skills: probing, listening and closing
    • Sound writing skills
    • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
    • Series 7 and 63 preferred, must be obtained within 90 days of start date
