    Prosperity Bank is seeking a Full-Time Small Business Development Officer. 

     

     

    As a Small Business Development Officer, you will support the Bank’s mission to be the best bank in North Texas through effective sales and service leadership, targeted business development efforts, and community involvement. The Small Business Development Officer (SBDO) is responsible for developing and managing business banking relationships in accordance with Prosperity Bank’s values and business principles. The SBDO assists with accomplishing the area’s business objectives including business development strategies, sales efforts, and market expansion. The focus is on Community Reinvestment loan production and deposit growth.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

     

    SALES/SERVICE

    • Focuses on driving small business lending opportunities (5M-1MM) in underserved communities. Will work to make sure the bank is partnering in woman owned/minority owned business groups, networks, and non-profit organizations.
    • Represent the Bank within the community by serving on at least one community service board/committee focused on CRA/Economic Empowerment /Woman-based business organization
    • Will partner with local SBA offices/SBA packaging service to increase knowledge and drive production in this area  (webinar training/SBA local offices/Centinel)
    • Promote/cross-sell LegacyTexas’ products/ services such as business deposit products, treasury management, business credit cards, and merchant service solutions.
    • Attend at least one training conference /seminar annually to enhance their skillset annually
    • Generate fee income in accordance with assigned goals
    • Conduct customer and prospect calls for the Bank in order to deepen existing relationships and obtain new business.
    • Develop partnership with Branch Manager and associates in order to cultivate a positive referral process.
    • Conduct joint calls with Supervisor and local Branch Managers.

     

    QUALITY LOAN AND DEPOSIT PORTFOLIO / PRODUCTION

    • Manage and enhance the growth of a quality loan portfolio with a focus on business lending.
    • Interview potential customers, analyze loan applications, financial statements, and base credit decisions on Bank Loan Policy.
    • Minimize Loan losses and exceptions through effective documentation, analysis, timeliness, and relationship building.
    • Partner closely with the Branch Manager to ensure consistent and quality relationship building and quality commercial and consumer referrals between SBDO and Branch Manager.
    • Ensure ongoing credit quality by monitoring loans, managing past dues and exception items.

    Required Skills

    The Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Expertise in utilizing various software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Lotus Notes, XP and ability to grasp new programs quickly and confidently. Must be a self-starter, people oriented and have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

    Required Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or equivalent work experience.

    One to three years of outside sales and customer service experience in the financial services industry.
