    This is hybrid or remote work schedule. Hybrid is 2 days in the office and 3 days remote

    OUR IMPACT:

    Freddie Mac is leading the U.S housing market forward by making homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable. To support this mission, the Data Analytics Audit team at Freddie Mac provides assurance to senior management, the General Auditor, and the Audit Committee of the Board that company data are fit for purpose and are appropriately used to gain business insight and support business decisions.

    YOUR IMPACT:

    Internal Audit is looking for additional experienced analysts and data scientists who can lead advanced analytics and AI for auditing.

    • Applies advanced analytics (e.g., predictive, prescriptive, unsupervised learning, natural language processing) for audit activities

    • Demonstrates a deep knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, such as decision trees, neural networks, gradient boosting, natural language processing, & image processing.

    • Proficient in applied computer programming, preferably R and/or Python.

    • Ability to ideate, define business problem statements, identify use cases, code, develop proof of concept and implement ML based tools.

    • Cognizant of the software and hardware demands of running AI & ML as well as work arounds.

    • Guides Internal Audit cohorts as they learn machine learning techniques and apply them in building proof of concepts for audit projects.

    • Helps manage the pipeline of AI and ML audit projects and learning initiatives.

    • Understands heightened risks posed by AI and machine learning, including interpretability, fairness, and privacy and evaluates risk management activities to mitigate these risks.

    • Participates in audit entrance meetings, status meetings, potential findings discussions, and exit meetings with senior management or executive levels, other internal audit teams, and auditees.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree, PhD or foreign equivalent in statistics, data science, economics, finance, computer science or related quantitative fields.

    • 5-7 years related experience and 2+ years management experience (a graduate degree can substitute for 2 years of experience).

    • Demonstrated experience in managing analytics teams, multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines and controlled budgets.

    • In-depth understanding of the AI & ML, and ability to convert a business problem (i.e., related to finance or audit) to use cases and apply appropriate solution.

    • Willingness to learn and obtain additional project management, data science, or artificial intelligence certifications.

    • Coaches, inspires, and develops Internal Audit cohorts in learning and applying machine learning techniques.

    • Self-motivated with the capability of managing multiple priorities and proposing solutions.

    • Intellectually curious and thrives on evaluating a variety of data science techniques.

    • Strong written and oral presentation skills.

    • Inspires and motivates group collaboration in the AI & ML space
