The Performance & Accountability Leader is responsible two main functions. First, acting as an Engagement Lead (EL) for three to six hospital systems. This includes creating a standardized bi-monthly packet of the issues causing the system to be underperforming and leading a bi-monthly Performance Management Meeting. Second, but equally important is acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for four to six leading metrics. This position is responsible for developing strategies which will improve basic daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly Revenue Cycle metrics designed to achieve the highest level of reimbursement for services provided by our hospitals in a compliance and cost effective manner. Actions include auditing, managing, monitoring and reporting on trends and recommending education to address processes to prevent further claims denials and rework requirements. Your day to day role will include: * Monitors assigned KPIs related to Revenue Cycle operations across all facilities through management and leadership. * Collects, analyses and presents data for assigned SME metrics. * Meets regularly with all impacted individuals to review analysis results, identify improvement opportunities and communicate financial impact. * Recommends changes to the workflow, as necessary, to best meet the needs of the organization. * Meets with Standardization Team to ensure best practices are in place or fully utilized * Designs a bi-weekly agenda and direct the Performance management call. Determine required attendees and discussion items including the progress on the metrics and the action items. * Provides advice, counsel, feedback and coordination that encourages a collegial relationship between the Site Leads and the Shared Service Liaison and Managers * Assists Director in developing strategies which will minimize metric degradation, managing, monitoring and reporting trends and suggesting education to address specific metrics. * Provides detailed monthly report of top issues impacting metrics, including company-wide comparison and financial impact to Director * Completes adhoc reporting request * Performs quarterly on-site visits to assigned clients and Shared Services * Keeps abreast of current changes with regard to Revenue Cycle trends that may affect health care systems/facilities. You Have: * Bachelor's degree * Extensive critical and analytical thinking skills required. * Professional presentation skills * Change Management experience preferred * Extensive data mining capabilities with the ability to derive operational opportunities * Three or more years of management experience * Five or more years experience working with hospitals in operations (e.g. Patient Access, CDM, revenue integrity, Patient Financial Services), compliance, clinical or finance areas * Three years of auditing experience in revenue cycle (e.g., DRG/APC/Coding, outpatient billing, and reimbursements) preferred * Experience and knowledge in federal, state and commercial billing, compliance and reimbursement regulations * Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding system, DRGs, APCs, LCDs/NCDs, MACs/FIs, and RACs preferred * Self-motivated, highly developed leadership skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix mode We offer: R1 is changing healthcare by infusing operational discipline and proprietary technology in hospital financial processes.
