    2019 Summer Internship-Anti-Money Laundering Governance - Req. 1804033 -Description Job Summary: Under supervision and direction, the Anti-Money Laundering Governance Internwill gain knowledge and skills in securities and banking industry compliance to develop, administer and enforce anti-money laundering rules and regulations. The intern will participate in projects with significant scope and impact and provide assistance in the oversight related to change management (e.g. new products, business ventures, remediation activities, knowledge management and examination support). The intern will execute on the responsibilities delegated by the AML Governance Senior Manager and team leaders and report information relevant to the units performance including any potential issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the creation and maintenance of all AML and Sanctions policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. Ensure the Enterprise AML teams comply with relevant Raymond James policies, operating procedures and other requirements through ongoing monitoring and review of the Enterprise AML Governance framework. Update role-based AML training programs to support the continuous development of AML knowledge and skills within each line of business. Shadow analysts performing QA testing to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems and controls affected by AML initiatives in order to achieve compliance with regulatory expectations. Report the outcome of QA testing to relevant member of Senior Management, AML Operating Committee, Risk, Compliance, etc. Create and maintain tracking reports that capture key metrics (e.g. level of risk associated with findings, historic frequency of findings, probable cause of findings, recommended solutions). Develop and maintain the AML risk assessment methodologies in order to ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements. Gain knowledge around change management activities (e.g. vendor management, M&A and regulatory changes). Develop and maintain metrics and reports to summarize and explain risk assessment results to relevant Senior Management, Compliance and other key stakeholder groups to ensure responses and remediation actions are promptly reported and executed as necessary. Responsible for special projects, reports, training and/or presentations to communicate program updates as needed. Provides guidance to home office associates and branch offices as applicable regarding AML policies. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. -Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Concepts, practices and procedures of securities industry and/or banking compliance reviews. Experience developing processes and procedures. Fundamental investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry. Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations. Financial markets and products. Skill in: Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Planning and scheduling work to meet regulatory organizational and regulatory requirements. Preparing oral and/or written reports. Investigating issues and irregularities. Making rule-based and analytical decisions. Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications. Analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems, analyze large amounts of data and execute on solutions. Ability to: Implement solutions, working with various internal business units throughout Raymond James. Optimize work processes, multi-task and handle multiple projects with demonstrated follow-through. Interpret and apply anti-money laundering regulations and identify and recommend compliance changes as appropriate. Work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain currency in anti-money laundering rules and regulations and compliance examination techniques and best practices. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Junior or Senior standing at a four-year college or university in a related field and relevant internships/campus involvement.
