    2019 Spring Internship- Statistics/ Business Analyst Intern (Memphis Location) - Req. 1803838 -Description Job Summary: Under general supervision, uses skills gained through training and experience to assist with specific projects within an assigned functional area for a specified period of time. Follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Some judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to a higher level. Routine contact with internal and external customers may be required to exchange basic information. Fixed Income Strategies helps to assist salesmen and traders in their daily business. We interact with depository clients (banks and credit unions) on a daily basis. We model bonds, analyze portfolios, create swap transactions based on broker client feedback. We are seeking a student that is interested in finance and business statistics. Through this internship, the candidate will gain a greater understanding of the Fixed Income financial markets and will use technology and statistical analysis to solve financial problems. Located in Memphis 50 North Front Street Office- Local Candidates only Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Assist in enhancing and maintaining financial models used in daily business activities -Specified projects and varied assignments. -Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications. -Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. -Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: -Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a professional office environment. -Basic concepts, principles and practices of an assigned business unit. Skill in: -Familiarity with -Writing scripts such as VBA, ASP, PHP, Windows Scripts, and/or Linux. -Database usage such as DQL, DAX, MDX, SQL-Server, MYSQL, and/or Oracle. -Operating standard office equipment and using, or have the ability to learn, required software applications. Ability to: -Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. -Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. -Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. -Provide a high level of customer service. -Establish and maintain effective working relationships Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Must be currently enrolled in a degree seeking program or accredited university -Rising Junior or Senior enrolled in accredited university. -Preferred degree in Business Statistics, Finance, or any other applicable college of business major. Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources. Licenses/Certifications: None Required
