    DESCRIPTION

    The Risk Management Policy Analyst will be responsible for supporting efforts to shape risk management policy, leveraging industry knowledge and experience.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Identify areas for enhancement and make recommendations for risk management standards, governance, and financial safeguards.

    • Support engagement with policy-makers, as it relates to the potential impact of proposed regulatory changes and education on CME Clearing's risk management policies and procedures. This also incudes supporting the preparation of written materials, such as comment letters to policy-makers and talking points.

    • Support risk management development for major project initiatives for CME Clearing, reflective of new business initiates and proposed regulatory changes.

    • Conduct data analysis for CME Clearing's recovery and wind-down planning, which requires working closely with teams across CME Group. For example, this includes analysis of the sufficiency of CME Clearing's financial resources to address various scenarios.

    • Work across groups to evaluate requirements and assess the impact to CME Clearing and our clients.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A bachelor's degree from a four-year, accredited institution; advanced or professional degree is a plus

    • One - three years direct work experience at a CCP / Exchange, regulatory organization, or Futures Commission Merchant preferred; Open to recent, high-performing college graduates with relevant or transferrable skills and experience

    • Strong to exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills - i.e., individual must be detail oriented, particularly when it comes to reading proposals from policy-makers (e.g., notice of proposed rulemakings).

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment

    • Expertise in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
