    POSITION SUMMARY: The Telecom Systems Engineer is responsible for helping install, troubleshoot, and configure voice and networking hardware and software for a 1000+ employees and a call center of 300+ agents. The Telecom Systems Engineer will also work with various third-party vendors and service providers to help move projects along and meet timelines.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Works with team to determine appropriate configurations of telecommunications hardware and software to ensure the desired performance of telecommunications solutions
    • Researches, gathers and compiles relevant technical information to champion enhancements of networks and telecommunications systems
    • Supports the USA offices after regular business hours across multiple states
    • Interacts with co-workers and vendors to obtain and disseminate information, advice on projects, resolve conflicts, set priorities, coordinate activities, complete projects within time and provide assistance
    • Remains current on job-specific and department topics through training courses, workshops, seminars, professional organizations, professional publications, etc. to apply appropriate policies and technologies to assigned systems
    • Maintains and analyzes telecommunications equipment inventory
    • Creates manuals for use by system users to provide information needed to operate assigned telecommunications equipment and systems
    • Coordinates and inspects the work of vendors, service providers, contractors, subcontractors
    • Monitors assigned telecommunications systems to assess need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance and/or new systems
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Ability to work well and participate in a team environment
    • Experience with a call center of 150 or more agents
    • Able to exercise great initiative and independent judgment
    • High regard for confidentiality and ability to maintain confidential information
    • Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously
    • Solid problem-solving and business acumen skills
    • Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma required
    • Bachelor degree preferred (Information Systems, Business, or Communications)
    • Equivalent work experience required
    • Aspect Certification a plus
    • Experience troubleshooting telecommunications hardware issues
    • Experience working with vendors and telecommunication carriers
    • Experience troubleshooting basic network problems
    • Mortgage Industry experience a plus

    MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting VOIP Systems and Automated Dialers
    • Experience with Aspect Dialer, IVR, WFM, Wallboards and VIA
    • Experience with Cisco networking equipment
