POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wire Desk Accountant is responsible for processing daily wire activities, which will include review and analysis of wire request documentation, inputting wire details in banking system, journal entries, managing wire desk inbox, certain day-to-day treasury and cash management functions, audit of wire request documentation including that funds are available/requested funds are coming from and to proper accounts and other ad hoc functions as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enters wire transfer information under multiple online banking sites and responsible for staying update with current accounts being opened or closed
• Wires request documentation analysis
• Reviews and ensures daily wires are completed and submitted for approval prior to wire cutoff times
• Maintains accuracy of the ledgers and financial systems
• Assists and participate in closing functions: ensuring all entries are booked in a timely manner
• Provides applicable support for requested documentation in annual audit and various state audits
• Prepares Journal Entry
• Handles reconciliation of monthly Bank Accounts: Responsible for ensuring that all Principal and Interest and Taxes and Insurance reconciliations are being completed prior to cutoff, validating bank balances agree with GL balances; researching discrepancies when necessary
• Works closely with others department employees in researching of discrepancies of wire requests, deposits made to various accounts
• Communicates with 3rd parties to verify account information, when applicable
• Performs other duties as assigned by management

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Loan Servicing / Investor Accounting
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with researching loan-level information in MSP
• Accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
• High attention to detail and accuracy

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor Degree preferred (in accounting or finance preferred or equivalent experience) 
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a loan servicing accounting/finance department
• MSP experience preferred
• Navision GL experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
